Suke (督) was originally born in what is now known as the Kantō region. She was sold to a Geisha house for good money and was trained in dance and in string instruments. When she was 12 she formally moved from her apprenticeship and took her Geisha name. As she grew older she became the right hand (wo)man to the head of the house and began training other girls in dance, theater, and string instruments. It was during this time, when she was in her early 30's when she the woman would would become her future master.  Master Zengoro watched Suke during her interactions with the lords and samurai and brought her into the fold.

For years Suke worked with Master Zengoro and entered the Circle of the Crone. It was after WWII where she began to branch out, eventually moving to the United States to help her establish ties with the Crone in California. It was there that she changed her name to Sakura... for simplicity sake.

During May of 2014 'Sakura' was in London, England for Circle matters. Due to a surprise fireball hitting the area she lost her body... and involuntarily entered the body of her thrall James Matterton. The Scarlet Woman of the Jacksonville Circle found herself in a new position...and has been learning to deal with it and James' illicit background.
