Tsunami Ltd. is an American multinational branded venture capital conglomerate founded by entrepreneur Charles Thomas Hulu. Tsunami Group's date of incorporation is listed as 1999 by Companies House, who class it as a holding company. At its inception, the core business areas were entertainment and lifestyle. In 2005, Tsunami acquired a number of other ventures in fields such as healthcare, media, and most notably telecommunications, remodeling under the brand Tsunami Telecom. In the process of this expansion, Tsunami gained acccess to significant cellular phone production and support infrastructure, and lauched an initiative as a multimedia service provider. Often noted as an underdog in the phone service provider market of the United States, Tsunami has made significant strides in expanding service capabilities to clients and matching the quality of service of traditional carriers Verizon and AT&T.
In 2008, Tsunami Telecom announced complete coverage and service within the United States, and began an initiative to expand clientel by shifting away from contract-based business. In this, Tsunami is often attributed with starting the trend among first tier phone service providers for 'month-to-month' plans. By 2010, the company had increased client-base by 86%, through a combination of aggressive advertising and competetive pricing.
